A: It is the purpose and mission of the National Memorial Sculptures & Monuments Committee (NMSMC) to encourage the creation of memorials, monuments, and public art throughout the United States of America, in which the life and legacy of historic or notable figures are preserved to inspire future generations to achieve similar feats of greatness. It is also the intent of the NMSMC that commissioned sculptures and monuments be of a superior aesthetic quality in order to enhance any urban region, thereby elevating the environmental pride of all the citizens of their respective communities.
